Contact Center Migration Checklist

Use this contact center migration checklist for requirements, telephony, integrations, data, testing, training, cutover and rollback.

Editorial review: 2026-09-10Method: evidence firstCommercial influence: none

Treat a contact-center migration as an operational transition, not merely a software install.

Inventory

Document phone numbers, carriers, IVRs, queues, skills, users, integrations, recordings, reports, WFM/QM, compliance and disaster recovery.

Requirements and architecture

Define channels, routing, authentication, reporting, AI, outbound and retention. Map Carrier -> Platform -> Routing -> Agent -> CRM -> Reporting, including failover.

Build and test

Configure users, permissions, queues, flows, numbers, integrations, recordings, QA and dashboards. Test inbound, outbound, transfers, hold, voicemail, failover, integrations, recording, reporting and peak load.

Train and cut over

Train agents, supervisors, admins, QA, WFM and IT. Define a command center, escalation contacts and rollback trigger.

Hypercare

Monitor failed calls, latency, missing recordings, routing, integrations and agent issues. Do not decommission the legacy environment until rollback risk is acceptable.
