Contact center software is no longer consistently priced "per seat." Modern CCaaS platforms may bill by named user, concurrent user, active user, active-user hour or channel consumption. The billing denominator can matter as much as the published rate.

Current Q3 2026 examples

Comparable published voice-seat entry points include RingCentral RingCX around $65 per user/month, Genesys CX1 around $75 per named user/month billed annually, Talkdesk Voice Essentials around $105 per user/month and NiCE Omnichannel around $110 per agent/month.

Five9 uses concurrent-seat economics and its current public Core package has been around $159 per concurrent user/month with a 50-seat minimum. Twilio Flex offers multiple models including roughly $35 per monthly active user plus usage, $150 per named user, and $1 per active-user hour. Amazon Connect uses channel consumption rather than a conventional seat license.

Named vs concurrent licensing

A 100-person operation with only 50 people logged in at the same time can produce very different economics under named and concurrent licensing. Do not multiply a concurrent-seat quote by total employee headcount automatically.

Total cost of ownership

Use:

CCaaS TCO = Licensing + Telecom + Messages + AI + Storage + Recording + WFM/QM + Integrations + Implementation + Professional Services + Administration

Contract assumptions

Published prices can depend on annual or multi-year commitments. Preserve the billing term and minimum commitment beside the price.

Usage-native platforms

Amazon Connect illustrates a different model: voice, chat, messaging and email can be charged by usage. That can be attractive for variable workforces, but implementation and engineering cost must be included.

AI and WEM add-ons

A low base license can become much more expensive when a buyer adds workforce management, quality management, speech analytics, autonomous AI and premium support.

Bottom line

Before comparing CCaaS prices, ask: "What kind of user or unit is being billed, what usage is additional, and what is the contract assumption?"
